On the occasion of the 50th edition of the Foire du Livre de Bruxelles, Polish literature will take pride of place at the Place de l’Europe, together with several partners from EUNIC Brussels. This will provide people with the opportunity to discover the most interesting new European literature in French, English and Dutch translation and in their original languages!
The Polish Institute in Brussels has also invited a Polish writer – author of crime-thrillers Wojciech CHMIELARZ. He will participate in a panel discussion on the genre on Sunday 17 February at 11h together with Italian author Gesuino NEMUS.
Wojciech Chmielarz (born in 1984) – author of crime novels, journalist, winner of the Wielki Kaliber Prize (2015) and nominated six times for this award. He has published in many political and literary magazines: “Pressie”, “Nowa Fantastyka”, “Pocisk”, “Puls Biznesu” and “Polityka”. He is considered one of the most promising polar writers of the younger generation. He is the author of detective novels starring Commissioner Jakub Mortka: Podpalacz (2012), Doll’s Farm (2013), Takeover (2014), Osiedle Marzeń (2016), Cienie (2018), Gliwice cycle: Vampire (2015) and Zombie (2017), but also psychological thriller: Żmijowisko (2018). In 2018, his first book in French, “Pyromane” (Agullo Editions), appears in the collection “The police pocketbook”.
