For its 22nd edition, the Brussels Short Film Festival (BSFF) presents in international competition David Tejer‘s first film, with the splendid Irena Melcer: Cradle me.
Synopsis
On the morning of her birthday, Emilia wakes up next to a stranger – Shay, a tourist from Tel Aviv. As the previous night’s events return to her, she remembers that their condom broke…

About the director
David Tejer was raised in Stockholm, and later in Israel. There he graduated from Tel Aviv University, majoring in Film Studies and English Literature. He went on to work in the film industry, working his way up to Director of Photography. In 2014, he decided to move to his parents’ native Poland to seriously pursue writing and directing and was accepted to the director’s program at the Wajda School. In 2017 he co-wrote and directed “Femina” – a dark-comedy musical theater piece. “Cradle Me” is his film debut.
About Irena Melcer
She is a graduate of The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. In the theatre, she has collaborated with noted directors such as Agata Duda-Gracz, Anna Smolar, Krystyna Janda and Michał Walczak. She has also had the great pleasure of acting in the films “Afterimage” (dir. Andrzej Wajda), “Wszystko Gra” (dir. Agnieszka Glińska), “Stones from the Rampart” (dir. Robert Gliński) and “Serce, Serduszko” (dir. Jan Jakub Kolski), to name a few. In 2014, Irena was awarded the Grand Prix, as well as the Press award, at the 35th Stage Song Review in Wrocław. In 2015, she won the 2nd price, as well as the audience award, at the 22nd “Rock & Chanson Festival” in Cologne.
