War Time Diplomacy

This year we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The capitulation of the Third Reich on 8 May 1945 brought the war in Europe to an end. However, the struggle against Japan continues in the Far East. Only its surrender – on 2 September 1945 – was the end of the Second World War, which, according to various estimates, took the lives of 60 to 80 million people.

In the coming weeks, we will present to you on our social networks the lesser-known activities of Polish diplomats, both before and during the Second World War.

All of these facts are based on little-known archival material that highlights some of the complex diplomatic ties and international relations that Polish diplomats faced during the Second World War.

Below, you can discover all these archives commented by Marek Pernal (Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
