The Faculty of Letters, Translation and Communication of the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Polish Institute in Brussels invite you to a lecture by Professor Paweł Próchniak about the great Ukrainian-speaking romantic poet Taras Schevchenko and his Last Testament.
Schevchenko was a well-known poet in his country and today his verses are used as slogans in demonstrations against Russian aggression. He was also a painter and suffered an exceptional fate as a slave turned timeless national figure.
Paweł Próchniak, born in 1966, is a literary researcher, literary anthropologist, literary critic, and professor at the Institute of Polish Philology at the Pedagogical University of Kraków.
The event takes place on Monday 2 May 2022 – 🔗 of the conference
