Concert “Chopin and his Europe” closing the Masterclasses preparing for the 2nd International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments

The concert ‘Chopin and his Europe’ on 5 March 2023 at 16.30 closing the Masterclasses preparing for the 2nd International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments will bring together on the big stage of the Brussels Conservatories two generations of musicians, the masters, Piet Kuijken, Edoardo Torbianelli and Wojciech Świtała and young artists, who have attended the masterclasses. This concert is intended to highlight the sonic beauty of pianos from Chopin’s period and to give young musicians the opportunity to develop their talent.

Romantic music composed by Fryderyk Chopin – the poet of the piano, will be executed on instruments from the composer’s period, – Pleyel 1845, Gross 1840 from the collection of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and Erard 1836 and Pleyel 1843 from the Chris Maene Collection.
