Concert: “Fragments of a Diary” – tribute to Josima Feldschuh, the Child Prodigy of the Warsaw Ghetto

Josima Feldschuh was a young pianist and composer from a Jewish family in Warsaw. She passed away in 1943 at the age of 15, leaving behind a manuscript of 17 piano pieces, now preserved at the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem.

Volodymyr Runchak’s (UA) piece is dedicated to Josima Feldschuh. Excerpts from Josima’s father’s journal are incorporated into the vocal part, sung in Polish.

The Brundibár Arts Festival, founded by Alexandra Raikhlina in 2016, focuses on Holocaust music and arts. The concert “Fragments of a Diary” is organized in remembrance of the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, symbolized by the yellow daffodil.
