EAST BOUND: Polish Fashion as Cultural Diplomacy

On 12 May, the fashion show EAST BOUND took place in Brussels at the Track space in Gare du Nord, marking the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event showcased Polish fashion as a dynamic tool of cultural diplomacy and celebrated the creative voices of Central and Eastern Europe.

EAST BOUND highlighted how designers from the region — particularly from Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus — have turned historical and economic challenges into sources of artistic strength. The exhibition presented a striking fusion of tradition and innovation, emphasizing craftsmanship, sustainability, and local identity.

Nearly 100 curated looks demonstrated how fashion can serve as a medium for cultural expression, reshaping outdated perceptions of the region and positioning Poland as a creative leader during its EU Presidency. The selection included both established names and emerging talents, offering a rich and diverse aesthetic reflective of contemporary Eastern European design.
