Joint improvisation event between the group LOTTO and Konrad SMOLEŃSKI. Part of the KRAAK festival 2015

Since 6 December 2014, the sound artist Konrad SMOLEŃSKI has been showcasing his installation Everything Was Forever, Until It Was No More in the rooms of the Contemporary Art Centre Netwerk in Alost as part of the collective exhibition ORKEST!

By way of conclusion to this sensory experience, a closing event is being held, part of the programme of the KRAAK Festival, this “annual journey through a labyrinth called off-stream music, avant-garde or other”, in the words of the organisers. The closing event will take the form of a joint improvisation event carried out by the Polish noise rock group LOTTO et Konrad Smoleńskiand Konrad Smoleński, an improvisation which will bring to life the latter’s installation.

LOTTO is a Warsaw trio made up of the double bass player Mike Majkowski (one of the members of the group Hailu Mergia), the guitarist Lukasz RYCHLICKI and the percussionist Paweł SZPURA. Together, they are pushing the boundaries of improvisation, country and noise rock in insistent and repetitive jams. In 2014, they made their first album, Ask the Dust, which was put out by Lado ABC.
