The Brussels Book Fair with Tina Oziewicz and Aleksandra Zając

On the occasion of the Brussels Book Fair we will welcome two exceptional authors:
Tina Oziewicz and Aleksandra Zając!

Discover their comforting and soothing books.
They are the books to be kept, passed on, shared with others and offered as cherished gifts.

Can you imagine what the emotions do during their day?
“The 31 creatures that make up this story are emotions. The story has  no colours, but it encompasses a gallery of characters depicted in a range of soft greys, which immediately arouse empathy. They are all expressed though action: Joy leaps on a trampoline, Anger explodes, Sadness wraps itself in a blanket, Gratitude warms, Hope prepares sandwiches for the road… Love lights up. In simple, fine sentences, the author alternates registers and invites introspection and dialogue. Some images hit the nail on the head, others upset, question, propose the beginning of an explanation or solution, or distinguish between emotions that are precisely alike. But emotions are neither judged nor classified, they act and exist, as they do in each and every one of us.”

What Feelings Do When No One’s Looking by Tina Oziewicz & Aleksandra Zając.
Published by Pushkin Children’s Books (French version by La Partie).

Can you imagine what links emotions together?
“Courage has an older sister whom it admires above all else. Fear and Curiosity share more than they seem to. Malevolence prepares poisons that it destined for Joy, Happiness and Carefreeness. Stubbornness never travels without its glue and Insignificance sees value in everything but itself. In this album by Tina Oziewicz and Alekandra Zajac, the emotions no longer pass by, but rather rub shoulders with each other, revealing to us what they share and feel. Eight philosophical and subtle stories to delve into!”
