UH Fest comes back to Budapest from September 28 to October 4, 2026, to once again feature an international lineup of adventurous and experimental music. Since 2001, the festival has been showcasing hundreds of local and international artists who push the boundaries of conventional sound. It is organized by the volunteer-driven Ultrasound Foundation, this grassroots festival intentionally rejects genre boundaries while juxtaposing the visceral, cerebral, and abstract sound experiments to spark creative exploration and intercultural dialogue. To get an inside look at this unique sonic landscape of UH Fest 2026, we spoke with curators András Nun and Krisztián Puskár to discuss the festival’s enduring legacy, its dedication to uncovering radical musical perspectives left behind by mainstream media and importantly this year’s focus on Central European artists, among them two appreciated creators from Poland: Robert Piotrowicz and Szymon Gąsiorek (Pimpon).
