21-27 April EURO FILM FEST invites to watch as a part of its festival program the film Cold War by Pawel Pawlikowski (2018).
Set in Poland and France during the Cold War from the late 1940s until the 1960s, the film story follows a pianist (Tomasz Kot) who discovers a young singer Zula (Joanna Kulig), exploring their subsequent love story over the years. The film got a significant success and was highly praised by critics. At Cannes Film Festival Pawel Pawlikowski was awarded as Best Director, the film received 5 European cinema awards (Best Film, Best Screenplay, Director, Film Editing and Best Actress J. Kulig). Cold War had three Oscar nominations (Best Foreign Language Film, Best Director and Best Cinematography), got Gold Lions award at Polish Feature Films Festival and 7 other Polish cinema awards.
