Poland honoured by the CINE PRIVE festival

CINE PRIVE is a festival organised by CIRCA devoted exclusively to cinema and the media in a broad sense. Its goal is to highlight the works of promising talent, be they the maker of short films, feature-length films, animated films, documentaries or even art installations, music and photography. What makes the festival special is that it takes place in the exceptional surroundings that put on the animated films and cinema screenings: the festival centre is the ‘Maison des Dockers’, in the port of Ghent.
The eighth edition of the festival will take place this year from 11-14 February.
+++ More information

This year has a particular link to Poland because Ciné Privé will be in Gdańsk during Flanders Week in Gdańsk (14-21 March 2015) due to the collaboration between CIRCA and the Poznań SHORT WAVES Festival, a festival of Polish shorts with which the Polish Institute will be involved for the second time in March 2015. But above all, this year, Poland will take pride of place in the programme. The 12 February will be given over to a retrospective of shorts made by producers born in the 1980’s.
During the Polish evening, the public has the opportunity to meet Szymon Stemplewski, artistic director of the Festival Short Waves, and Przemysław Wojciechowski, project coordinator for the Centre for Contemporary Art Łaźnia from the City of Gdańsk. They will present the Polish programme, as well as the artistic cooperation between the cities Ghent and Gdańsk.
