The Polish Institute in Kyiv hosted an inaugural ceremony of a scholarship program organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
The program, dedicated to Ukrainian researchers, stands out for a number of reasons:
🔹 a total of USD 8 million earmarked for Ukrainian researchers;
🔹 ensuring stability to its beneficiaries to pursue their scientific ambitions with peace of mind;
🔹 providing an opportunity to engage in substantive networking with Western colleagues;
🔹 guaranteeing that the beneficiaries enjoy research freedom and independence and are not dominated by program leaders.
On a different note, the Polish Academy of Sciences has hosted over 200 Ukrainian researchers seeking refuge in Poland during the Russian invasion.
