Barbara Skarga’s memoirs hold up a mirror to the circumstances of life in a prison camp, its laws, rules, hierarchic system, relations, daily routine, leisure, specific vocabulary. The memoirs cover 11 years of Barbara Skarga’s life (1944–1956), the term of her imprisonment for being in the Home Army (she became a Soviet prisoner in 25).
Translator Dmytro Antoniuk and Polish publicist and specialist in Polish-Ukrainian relations Bogumiła Berdychowska will take part in the presentation. We welcome all interested in the topic to watch the presentation and participate in discussion.
