In 2018, the Kazimir Malevich Artist award will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Back in 2008, the Malevich Award was the first honor for Ukrainian artists who engage in contemporary art. In close cooperation with Ukrainian and Polish partners, the Polish Institute once in two years presented the award to ukrainian artists aged below 40, regardless of their current place of residence, for their contribution to the contemporary art development, in particular for the quality, mastery, achievements and significance of their works. Laureates of the award: Alevtyna Kakhidze (2008), Stas Voliazlovskyi (2010), Zhanna Kadyrova (2012), Lada Nakonechna (2014), and Mykyta Kadan (2016).
The partner of this year’s anniversary award is the Ukrainian Institute, a new state institution founded by the Ukrainian government in 2016, which represents the Ukrainian culture in the world and establishes international relations in the fields of art, education, and science.
Candidates for the award may be nominated by Ukrainian and foreign cultural institutions, scientific centers, artistic associations, galleries and museums (one person per organization). Applications (with the set of 10 photos of artist’s works) are accepted until October 15
The submissions should be adressed to the Polish Intitute in Kyiv at: olena.zoc@instytutpolski.org
The subject line should read: „MALEWICZ 2018”
