Jacek Kortus is a laureate of many international and Polish piano competitions, including the 1st prize and Grand Prix of the 9th International Chopin Competition in Antonin, 1st prize of the All-Polish Prof. Ludwik Stefański competition in Płock.
In 2002 he received the scholarship of Jolanta and Aleksander Kwaśniewski Foundation for helping young talents. He won twice the scholarship of the Minister of culture and national heritage of Poland. In 2004 he became the laureate of the special prize of the 6th international young pianists competition
«Arthur Rubinstein In memoriam» in Bydgoszcz. In 2005 he became a finalist of the 15th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
He plays in leading philharmonics of Poland and the world (Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, China, Japan, Taiwan, Israel, Palestine, Marocco).
In 2006 he was awarded the “Young Art Medal”, which is given to young artists for outstanding creative achievements, and the Hipolit Cegielski Young Positivist Medal for achievements in organic work. In addition, he was nominated for the Passport of Politics award. Jacek Kortus’ first solo album which included works of Chopin and Liszt was issued in May 2008.
