Wojciech Wrzosek is a professor of history of the Adam Mizkiewicz University in Poznan, a student of Jerzy Topolski, one of the prominent representatives of the Poznan methodological school, editor-in-chief of the “Sensus Historiae” magazine, vice-president of the Polish-Ukrainian Historiography Society. He studies Western European, and particularly Frenchi, theory and history of historiography, problems of historic thinking and historic culture.
Wojciech Wrzosek “History, culture, metaphor. A beginning of non-classical historiography. On historical thinking” (Kyiv, Nika-Tsentr, 2012, transl. by V. Sahan, V. Sklokin, S. Seriakov)
The book substantiates the constructivist approach to the analysis of history writing and makes one of the most convincing attempts in the world human sciences history to conceptualize history as a cultural practice.
Jerzy Topolski “How do we write and understand history? Secrets of the historical narrative” (Kyiv, K.I.S., 2012, trans. by N. Honcharenko)
This is a brilliant example of profound and considered reflection on the way the idea of historians, historical research and the knowledge obtained in the process of research changed throughout centuries.
