Pieces of Witold Lutosławski at the First International Festival “Kharkiv Contemporary”

The figure of a classic of Polish musical avant-gard of 20th century Witold Lutosławski is not yet widely known in Ukraine. This concert will feature the first Kharkiv performances of the two most famous orchestral pieces of the composer: MI-PARTI and Lancuch II. The soloist in the Lancuch II piece for violin and symphony orchestra will be a young and talented Ukrainian violinist Lidia Futorska who is this year’s scholar of the Gaude Polonia program and a Ph. D. candidate in the Music Academy in Gdansk. The conductor will be a well-known Ukrainian composer and conductor Volodymyr Runchak. The concert will mark the ending of the First International Contemporary Music Festival “Kharkiv Сontemporary”.
