Exhibition

Exhibition of icons created during plein-airs in Nowica and Zamlynnia represents only a part of the work. In selection of the works, organizers tried to show the diversity of interpretations of artists who come from various icon painting centers and trends. Thus, together with “traditional” works, they have chosen author’s icons that talk to the audience in the contemporary artistic language.

Plein-airs

When the first plein-air was organized in 2008 for icon painters from Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia and Belarus in Nowica (Poland) and Zamlynnia (Ukraine), the organizers wanted to draw attention to the common sources of inspiration for the artists who work on sacred themes in the beginning of the 21st century.
