Leszek Możdżer
Virtuoso pianist, composer and producer Leszek Możdżer has been recognized as the greatest discovery in Polish jazz of the last decade. His fame outside Poland can perhaps be compared to that of pop musicians: the network of Możdżer’s fan clubs spreads from the USA and Brazil to Japan. With classical musical education and jazz improvisational thinking, Leszek has formed his own signature style that is easy to recognize from the first chords.
Leszek Możdżer has collaborated with the most famous modern jazzmen. In particular, such names as Arthur Blight, Buster Williams, Billy Harper, Joe Lovano, Pat Metheny and Archie Shepp are worth mentioning. The pianist recorded with Tomasz Stanko, Michal Urbaniak and Anna Maria Jopek, performed pieces of Krzysztof Komeda and many other modern composers. The calling card of the musician is his jazz interpretation of Frédéric Chopin’s themes.
