200th Аnniversary of Stanisław Moniuszko 🗺

Concert

A concert dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Stanisław Moniuszko will take place in the National Philharmonic of Ukraine with the support of the Polish-Canadian Independent Culture Foundation “POLCANART” and the Stanisław Moniuszko’s Music Appreciation Society in Poland.

Stanisław Moniuszko (1819–1872) was a classic of the Polish music and is considered the father of the Polish national opera. His musical heritage consists of more than 300 pieces, including twelve operas (one unfinished), three ballets, eight operettas, five masses, about 80 romances, and 400 songs. One of his most famous operas, “Halka” to a libretto written by Włodzimierz Wolski after his own poem, was staged in Kyiv opera theater in 1880s and was among the most popular performances at the time.

In the Philharmonic, the Ensemble of folk instruments “Native Tunes” will perform arias from operas “The Haunted Manor”, “The Countess”, “Beata”, and lyrical vocal pieces.

Soloists are Ielizaveta Lipitiuk (soprano), Aleksander Czajkowski-Ładysz (bass), Jarosław Domagała (piano).
