The Minister of Foreign Affairs has launched a competition for the Best History Book in the foreign-language publication category on the history of Poland.

Books released in 2023 and 2024 are eligible to be submitted in the competition. The deadline for submission is 31^th of August 2025.

To be eligible for the competition, a publication must be a book (a scientific monograph, a popular science publication or an edition of sources) by no more than three authors.

Laureates will be awarded a cash prize of EUR 10,000 for ranking first, EUR 5,000 for ranking second and EUR 2,500 for ranking third.

The competition prizes are awarded by the Foreign Minister at the request of The Competition Chapter. The results of the Competition will be announced no later than 11^th of November 2025.

How to submit a publication:

To participate in the competition, you must send your publication by 31^th of August 2025 (date of mail stamp or time stamp on e-mail deemed to be date of delivery).

Entries must include an electronic copy of the book in pdf format or an e-book in a format commonly available at bookstores. You may also send 6 hard copies of the publication, however electronic books are preferred. You may enclose published peer reviews, opinions and publisher’s reviews if available. There are no limits on the language of the publication, however if an English translation is available, we kindly ask you to include it in your submission.

A written consent of the author or authors to participate in the competition, and their contact details, as well as written consent to the processing of personal data must be enclosed with the entry.

This year’s edition of the competition is intended for publications released in 2023 and 2024.

The MFA will not return the copies of publications entered for the competition.

Informujemy ze, głoszony został Konkurs Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych na Najlepszą Książkę historyczną w kategorii „Najlepsza publikacja obcojęzyczna z zakresu historii Polski”.
Konkurs stanowi nową odsłonę istniejącego od roku 2017 Konkursu Historycznego Ministra.Do konkursu mogą zostać zgłoszone publikacje, które zostały wydane w roku 2023 i 2024.

Książki można zgłaszać do 31 sierpnia 2025 r.

Do konkursu można zgłaszać wyłącznie publikacje książkowe (zarówno monografie naukowe, jak i publikacje popularno-naukowe i edycje źródeł), których liczba autorów nie przekracza trzech. Dla laureatów przewidziano nagrodę pieniężną w wysokości 10 000 EUR za zajęcie I miejsca, 5 000 EUR za zajęcie II miejsca, 2500 EUR za zajęcie III miejsca.
Prace na konkurs należy zgłaszać w postaci plików elektronicznych w formacie pdf lub jak e-book w formatach powszechnie dostępnych na rynku. Możliwe jest również przesłanie 6 egzemplarzy publikacji, jednak forma elektroniczna jest preferowana. Do publikacji dołączyć można publikowane recenzje, opinie i recenzje wydawnicze. Zgodnie z regulaminem konkursu publikacje mogą być napisane w dowolnym języku. Będziemy bardzo wdzięczni za przekazanie angielskiego tłumaczenia publikacji, jeśli takowe
istnieje.
Do zgłoszenia dołącza się pisemną zgodę autora lub autorów na udział w konkursie oraz ich dane kontaktowe wraz z podpisanym formularzem zgody na przetwarzanie danych osobowych. Wszystkie wymogi formalne i merytoryczne są zawarte w regulaminie konkursu, którego szczegółowe zasady określa Zarządzenie nr 9 Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych z dnia 24 marca 2025 r. w sprawie Konkursu Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych na Najlepszą Książkę Historyczną wraz z załącznikami (Dz. Urz. Min. Spraw Zagr. z 2025 poz. 11).

Książki w formie elektronicznej należy kierować na adres: ddk.sekretariat@msz.gov.pl z podaniem w tytule nazwy „Konkurs Ministra SZ na Najlepszą Książkę Historyczną 2025”.
