Copernicus – Constellations

ONLINE / International Competition

19 February marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, one of the greatest representatives of the Renaissance, a world-renowned astronomer and the creator of the heliocentric theory. On this occasion, the National Centre for Culture is organising an international competition for an outdoor spatial installation and invites all bold, out-of-the-box and creative designers to participate.

The competition is aimed at designers and design groups both in Poland and abroad. It aims to introduce the figure and achievements of Nicolaus Copernicus.

We wish to encourage contemporary artists and designers to draw inspiration from the history and traditions of Polish culture and science, and to seek creative solutions in the area of exhibition design, with a particular focus on outdoor spatial installations aimed at a wide audience. We believe that taking part in the competition will inspire participants to seek practical and versatile design solutions with a high degree of attention to form and clarity of the content presented.

The winning installations will enrich the public space with educational material, presented in a modern form that is attractive to a contemporary audience.

Details on how to take part in the competition can be found in the downloadable annexes:
