Exhibition opening: 18.07.2023 / 17:00
On Tuesday, July 18th, the main exhibition of the art project „ArtArmor“ will be officially inaugurated at the Gallery of the Polish Institute in Berlin.
„ArtArmor“ is a unique charitable project where art literally saves lives, not just figuratively. For the first time, armor plates are given another chance to protect, but now in the form of art objects.
The terrifying marks from bullets and shrapnel that these plates stopped in battle tell the story of ongoing war in Ukraine better than any words. Art is stronger than weapons, it is capable of evoking real emotions and uniting people all over the world.

The military handed over used armor plates to the project, that had already successfully completed their mission in battle – stopping enemy bullets and shrapnel. Well-known Ukrainian artists transformed these armor plates into unique art objects with exclusive stories. They will serve as an example to attract the attention of the global community, involve famous international artists, hold charity auctions, and raise funds. The funds raised within the project will be spent on providing assistance and meeting the humanitarian needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will contribute to ensuring sustainable peace. Specifically, the funds will be used to purchase modern protective gear (body armor, helmets, suits, etc.), equipment for demining, and for the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders.
Visit the exhibition of unique works of art that embody the indomitability and hopes of the Ukrainian people in the face of the horrors of war.
The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on July 18, 2023, 17:00 at the Gallery of the Polish Institute Berlin, located at Burgstraße 27, 10178 Berlin.
