_________
Kūkangendai (JP)

Formed in 2006 with Noguchi Junya on guitar and vocals, Koyano Keisuke on bass guitar, and Yamada Hideaki on drums. Performing as a three-piece, its tracks are made through a process of editing, replicating, and deliberate error. The music played in the form of three piece band (guitar, bass and drums) is created based on their idea of mixing edit, copy, repeat and error. Such twist and musical restraint in live performance makes their music to be strict, but humorous. The trio has proactively worked with various artists who are cutting-edge in their own genre. In October 2015, they organize an event ‘Kūkangendai Collaborations’ to present the culmination of these activities. The event aims for rebuilding the live performance from the point of view of words / sound / technology.

Daniel Szwed (PL)

Co-founder of the BNNT collective (with Konrad Smoleński) with whom they have been working in the field of sound and image since 2008, debuts with solo material. In your search focuses on a thrifty set, looking for new invoices and sound colors. Electrifies drums, based on rhythm ventures into technoid forms and metallic afterimages. Aggressive moves sometimes become grainy and drone-like bands, at other times it touches on quasi-metal forms. He uses drums in an unconventional way, creates reverberation, veers into the realms of raw techno and rough noise music. Balances on the border of electroacoustics, metal and industrial, setting a direction with a steady sound and ritual form. Together with Patryk Daszkiewicz, Mateusz Rosiński and Krystian Piotr (LAS) co-creates the HISS publishing collective.

Organised in cooperation with the EU-Japan Fest Japan Committee. Co-financed by the Polish Institute in Berlin.
