Come to join the last concert, at the Schlot, before Christmas with a very special Jazz guest from Poland, the talented multi instrumentalist Waldemar Szymański who will play piano, violin and trumpet together with a veteran hard swinging rhythm section: great bassist Robin Draganic (Canada / Croazia) and passionate drummer Andrea Marcelli (Italy).
The trio will propose an enjoyable program of very famous songs from Jazz History, Be Bop, Blues, Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova and Swinging Jazz.

Waldemar Szymański – piano, violin, trumpet. His first instrument was the violin (7 years old),
the piano (10 years old). In high school, the main instrument was changed from violin to trumpet
and the diploma exam. He studied at the Academy of Music in Katowice at the Department Jazz
and from 1986 at the Musikhochschule in Cologne.
Collaboration, among others: Peter Helzborheimer, Big-Band Darmstadt, Big-Band Eljazz, Bob Mintzer, Gilad Atzmon, Darek Oleszkiewicz, Zbigniew Wegehaupt, Tadeusz Jakubowski, Charlie Mariano, Tony Lakatos, Johannes Schädlich, Thomas Langer, Krzesimir Debski, Jarosław Śmietana, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Piotr Baron.

— 1st Place with the Heavy Metal Sextet band at Jazz Juniors Kraków + individual award.
— Won “Key to Career” with Heavy Metal Sextet at Pomeranian Autumn
— „Jazz forum” survey in the category “New Hope”
— 1st Place in Dunkirk with the band HMS in the category “Modern”
— 2nd Place Hoeilaart (Belgium) for “HMS” and individual Szymański award for the best instrumentalist in the “Best Soloist” competition. (1st place “String connection”, 3rd Dorado Schmitt)
— 2nd place for “HMS” in the “Jazz forum” poll in the “Band of the Year” category
— Prince of Monaco Award for the composition „The Particle“

ROBIN DRAGANIC bassist, born in 1963 in Zagreb raised in Canada and studied at University in Montreal where he had his first band with Ken Vandermark in 1984.
He also played in Usa, Russia, China and all over Europe.
Since 1988 he is one of the most requested bassists in Berlin. Since November 1997 Robin Draganic has been leading the best known Jam Session in Berlin „Robin’s Nest“ at the ‚B-Flat Jazz Club‘ every Wednesday evening.
Since 2003 he played over 500 concerts with the Quartet of singer Lyambiko,
with Marque Lowenthal, one of the most known Jazz bands in Germany
and recorded for Sony BMG.

leading an active international musical life world wide, performing in 5 continents with Wayne Shorter, David Liebman, Don Menza, Allan Holdsworth, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Eddie Gomez, Ralph Towner, Eberhard Weber, Markus Stockhausen, Palle Danielsson, John Patitucci, Hiram Bullock, Frank Gambale, and many others. He recorded many albums and two critically acclaimed Cds with legendary Major Label Verve/PolyGram.
