The show is created after the plays “Gas” and “Woman as a Battlefield”.

Script writer and director is Daniel Jacewicz.

Cast: M. Borakovska, A. Vaneev, O. Kryvosheev, F. Medvedeva, O. Nesterov, M. Panchenko, M. Udovichenko, N. Khyzhna.

The idea of the show appeared during the collaboration of the “Brama” theater (Goleniow, Poland) with the students of Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv University of Arts. A unique combination of creative potentials allowed to create bold theatrical projects that were made by the Polish director and played by Ukrainian actors. This is the second joint show, which is primarily about man.

The “Man as a Battlefield” show talks about the problem of war without delving into details who was the executioner and who was the martyr, winner or loser; it defends every human being, its freedom and right to live in peace and love.

Every day, at every moment, in every heartbeat a small battle takes place that we sometimes lose, and then for the sake of ideals, love, freedom we want for another person to feel the insufferable stench of fear.

We the performers hope that there is a possibility to stop this battle, despite the hundreds of raped women and despite the fact that each begotten son will someday put the gun to someone’s forehead.

The terrorist attack at Dubrovka St. is a starting point for the discussion about war, violence, and totalitarianism.

We are in “Rome or some other place.” In Rome which oppresses the smaller states and peoples with its victorious motion.

We talk about the theater as the place where the tragedy occurred and the place where we are talking about it. In our understanding this is the same place because:

The world is always at war.

War never ends.

War is in everyone of us.
