Today a musical feast begins – the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. When it started after World War I, interest in Chopin was at a low point. The war had made young people practical and hard-headed: fun and sports were what they wanted, not some mushy romantic composer. To change this attitude, the organizers decided to bring an element of sports competition to the stage – and it proved to be a hit! With each edition, the Chopin Piano Competition became more popular. We encourage you to follow 4K streaming.
