Polish speakers who are interested in trying the work of translating are invited to be elected to translate a Polish book which will be at the focus of a

workshop led by Miriam Borenstein.

Would you like to take part in the first Hebrew translation of Stramer by Mikołaj Łoziński?

We invite Polish speakers who want to try their hand at translation work to take part in a special translation workshop led by the translator Miriam Borenstein.

In partnership with Carmel publishing house we will hold the 6 sessions of this workshop which will begin on February 11 2022.

Only those elected could take part in the workshop based on a translation assignment they will submit ahead of it.

Mikołaj Łoziński himself (born in 1980) will come to visit the workshop in person.

The workshop will include working alongside Miriam Borenstein on the book Stramer by Mikołaj Łoziński – a saga about the Polish Stramer family which lives in the city of Tarnow

before WWII breaks out.

The person elected as the best student of the workshop will be the translator of the (entire) book into Hebrew.

The selection will be done based on the best translation of one of the chapters in the book which will be submitted alongside Carmel Publishing house to the Polish Book Institute

to seek funding to translate the entire work.
