European Union countries in Israel celebrate the 9th edition of the Europe Day with an event open to the public with stalls, music, knowledge and friendship
On May 9, 2023 (Tuesday) Poland and other EU Member States in Israel celebrate Europe Day.
The ceremony will take place at the Wohl Auditorium in Ha’Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv from 17:00.
The audience is invited to visit the stands of different countries, test their knowledge of Europe and watch a show of
songs known from the Eurovision Song Contest.
Historical background
On May 5, 1949, the Council of Europe was established, laying the foundations for the future creation of the European Union. The
founding of the Council of Europe reflected the ideals of unifying a continent enjoying good commercial and cultural relations after the
Second World War.
Poland joined the European Union in 2004.
Inauguration of Polish-language events at the Polish
On January 23, the library of the Polish Institute hosted the first meeting in a new series of events held in Polish, aimed at the Polish-speaking community in Israel. The initiative seeks to create an open and welcoming space for conversation and the exchange of experiences.
