In the event entitled “Israelis in Central-Eastern Europe – memories, development, forecasts”, former Ambassadors of Israel – Zvi Rav Ner, Zvi Magen and Alex Ben Zvi – will share their memories from the period of their diplomatic service in Poland and other countries of Central-Eastern Europe. Recalling the period of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Israel, they will talk about the influence of historical events in the region on international arena. The panelists will also talk about the prospects for the development of the region and about economic, social and political changes and how, in their opinion, they will affect the future of Central-Eastern Europe and the relations of the countries of the region with Israel.
The meeting will be modereated by Arieh Golan – a Polish-born radio journalist and media personality who emigrated to Israel during the so-called Gomułka Aliyah, a large emmigration wave of Polish Jews to Poland in the period 1956-1960 during the term of Władysław Gomułka, the leader of the communist Poland at that time.
