Golden Hedgehog Award for Actress Naomi Yoeli

Actress and creator Naomi Yoeli has won the Golden Hedgehog Award for her leading role in the stage adaptation of Olga Tokarczuk’s "Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead", performed at Tmuna Theater.

Yoeli received the Best Actress Award at the Golden Hedgehog ceremony, dedicated to excellence in independent theatre in Israel, for her outstanding performance in the central role. The production, directed by Yotam Gotal, is based on the novel by Polish Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk. Yoeli was praised for her intelligent, layered, and emotionally compelling interpretation of the protagonist.

The Golden Hedgehog Award, presented by the Golden Hedgehog Association, is considered one of the most important theatre prizes in Israel’s fringe scene and aims to encourage innovative and high-quality independent creations.

The novel on which the play is based was translated into Hebrew by Miriam Borenstein.

The production premiered on 23 November 2024 and was created with the support of the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and the Israel Lottery Council for Culture and Arts.
