Erste Sitzung  des Council for Education About the Holocaust/ Polnischer Bildungsrat über den Holocaust am 31.01.2018

Der von polnischer Bildungsministerin ins Leben gerufene Bildungsrat wird von dem Bevollmächtigten der Bildungsministerin für die polnisch-jüdischen Beziehungen Unterstaatssekretär Maciej Kopeć geleitet. 
Zum Rat gehören Persönlichkeiten, die bekannt sind für das Engagement, Wissen und Erfahrung in Bezug auf die Bildung über den Holocaust: Mateusz Szpytma, stellv. Vorsitzender des Insttituts für Nationales Gedenken (IPN), Dr. Anna Stróż, Direktorin des Ulma-Museums in Markowa über Polen, die Juden während des Zweiten Weltkriegs gerettet haben, Prof. Grzegorz Berendt, stellv. Direktor für Wissenschaftsforschung im Museum des Zweiten Weltkriegs, Prof. Dariusz Stola, Direktor des Museums der Geschichte der Polnischen Juden, Bischof Rafał Markowski, Vorsitzender des Ausschusses zum Dialog mit Judaismus des Polnischen Episkopats, Michael Schudrich, Oberrabiner von Polen, Marek Zając, Sekretär des Internationalen Auschwitz-Rates und Prof. Krzysztof Strzałka, stellv. Direktor des Departements für Öffentliche und Kulturelle Diplomatie im polnischen Außenministerium.

Pierwsze posiedzenie Rady ds. nauczania o Holokauście

Powołanie Rady ds. nauczania o Holokauście wpisuje się w działania na rzecz edukacji o Zagładzie na każdym poziomie kształcenia oraz rozwoju dobrych praktyk w tym obszarze, a także w zobowiązania Polski przyjęte na forach międzynarodowych.

Powołana przez Minister Edukacji Narodowej Rada ds. nauczania o Holokauście po raz pierwszy zebrała się w środę 31 stycznia br. Utworzenie tego gremium jest wyjściem naprzeciw potrzebom bliższej współpracy w obszarze edukacji o Holokauście z przedstawicielami środowisk akademickich, muzealnych oraz organizacji pozarządowych. To także realizacja międzynarodowych zobowiązań Polski.

Do zadań Rady należeć będzie przedstawianie nowych propozycji działań w dziedzinie edukacji o Holokauście, konsultowanie projektów opracowań i materiałów z zakresu edukacji o Holokauście oraz współpraca merytoryczna w zakresie przedsięwzięć promujących polskie rozwiązania w dziedzinie edukacji o Holokauście w kulturze masowej w kraju i za granicą.

Pracami Rady pokieruje Pełnomocnik Ministra Edukacji Narodowej do spraw kontaktów polsko-żydowskich Podsekretarz Stanu Maciej Kopeć, a w jej skład wejdą osoby wyróżniające się szczególną wiedzą, aktywnością i doświadczeniem w działalności na rzecz edukacji o Holokauście oraz m.in. Mateusz Szpytma, zastępca prezesa Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej, dr Anna Stróż, dyrektor Muzeum Polaków Ratujących Żydów podczas II wojny światowej im. Rodziny Ulmów w Markowej, prof. Grzegorz Berendt, zastępca dyrektora ds. naukowych w Muzeum II Wojny Światowej, prof. Dariusz Stola, dyrektor Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich, bp Rafał Markowski, Przewodniczący Komitetu do spraw Dialogu z Judaizmem Episkopatu Polski, Michael Schudrich, Naczelny Rabin Polski, Marek Zając, sekretarz Międzynarodowej Rady Oświęcimskiej, jak również prof. Krzysztof Strzałka, zastępca dyrektora Departamentu Dyplomacji Publicznej i Kulturalnej Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych.

Polska jest jednym z nielicznych państw na świecie, w których nauczanie o Holokauście ma charakter obowiązkowy – na wszystkich poziomach kształcenia. Cele kształcenia i treści nauczania dotyczące Holokaustu są uwzględnione: w dotychczasowej podstawie programowej – na wszystkich poziomach kształcenia (szkoła podstawowa, gimnazjum, szkoły ponadgimnazjalne) oraz w projekcie podstawy programowej dla szkół ponadpodstawowych.

The first session of the Council for Education About the Holocaust

The establishment of the Council for Education About the Holocaust is part of efforts to provide teaching on the Holocaust at every level of education and the development of good practices in this area that are linked to Poland’s commitments accepted in international fora.

Created by the Minister of National Education, the Council for Education About the Holocaust was convened for the first time on Wednesday, January 31 2018. The creation of this body is an opportunity to meet the need for closer cooperation in the area of education about the Holocaust with representatives of academia, museums and non-governmental organizations. It also constitutes the implementation of Poland’s international obligations.

The tasks of the Council will include presenting new proposals for activities in the field of education about the Holocaust, consulting research proposals and materials in the field of education about the Holocaust, and substantive cooperation regarding projects promoting Polish proposals linked to education about the Holocaust in mass culture in the country and abroad.

The Council’s work will be directed by the Plenipotentiary of the Minister of National Education for Polish-Jewish Relations, Undersecretary of State Maciej Kopeć, and its members will include individuals with special knowledge, track-records and experience in the area of Holocaust education.

It will also include Mateusz Szpytma, Deputy Chairman of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr Anna Stróż, Director of the Ulma Family Museum of Poles Saving Jews during World War II in Markowa, Prof. Grzegorz Berendt, Deputy Director of Research at the Museum of the Second World War, Prof. Dariusz Stola, Director of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Bishop Rafał Markowski, Chairman of the Committee for Dialogue with Judaism in the Polish Episcopate, Michael Schudrich, Chief Rabbi of Poland, Marek Zając, Secretary of the International Auschwitz Council, as well as Prof. Krzysztof Strzałka, Deputy Director of the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Poland is one of the few countries in the world where teaching about the Holocaust is obligatory – at all levels of education. The objectives of education and teaching content on the Holocaust are incorporated in: the current core curriculum – at all levels of education (primary school, middle school, high schools) and in the core curriculum of secondary schools.
