Gizela Mickiewiczs Praxis wird von der Idee beherrscht, inneres Leben, flüchtige Zustände, Erinnerungen und Identität in skulpturale Objekte zu übersetzen. Die neuesten Arbeiten, die aus dieser Praxis hervorgehen, setzen die typischen Motive ihrer Kunst fort.
Mickiewcz (geb. 1984 in Warschau) ist Absolventin der Akademie der Schönen Künste in Poznań, Polen.

Lucas Hirsch Gallery is pleased to announce the forthcoming solo exhibition by Gizela Mickiewicz titled „All Walks Have Led Me to the Place Where I Stand“. The exhibition will open its doors to the public on April 12th, from 7 to 9 pm, and will be on view until June 7th.
Mickiewicz’s practice is dominated by the idea of translating inner life, ephemeral states, memories, and identity into sculptural objects. The latest works emerging from this practice continue the typical motifs of her art.
born 1984, lives and works in Warsaw
Mickiewcz graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland. Solo shows include: Stereo, Warsaw (2022, 2020, 2017, 2015, 2011); Lucas Hirsch, Dusseldorf (2017); Arsenal, Białystok (2016); Frutta, Rome (2013), BWA Zielona Góra (2013). Group exhibitions include: Lovay Fine Arts, Geneva; Bureau, New York; at-fifteen, Tel-Aviv; CAC Kim?, Riga; CAC, Vilnius; Bunkier Sztuki, Cracow; Kunsthalle Bratislava; Zachęta National Gallery of Art; and Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Mickiewicz completed a residency at Gasworks, London (2014) and Triangle, New York (2016). She was shortlisted to VIEWS – Deutsche Bank Award (2019).
