The MozART Connection 🗺

London Mozart Players and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio join forces to perform Mozart’s elegant Sinfonia Concertante alongside Mussorgsky and Panufnik.

Music and art are the inspirations for the November concert, The MozART Connection. In a magical musical evening, two internationally renowned chamber orchestras – the London Mozart Players and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio – perform side by side in an exciting programme that brings some continental flair to SE19. Linked in name by Mozart himself, the twin orchestras will play his elegant Sinfonia Concertante with soloists drawn from both ensembles, while powerful art will be delivered through thrilling music in a special arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

We celebrate our Polish connection with Wojciech Kilar’s ‘Orawa’ and LMP Associate Composer Roxanna Panufnik’s evocative ‘Two Composers, Four Hands’. The Polish theme continues in the concert interval, when acclaimed Polish group Karolinka will treat us to some Polish folk dancing and singing. The MozART Connection is an unmissable event which proves once again that music has no borders. Get here early to view a special exhibition inspired by Mussorgsky’s piece, with artwork by pupils of Rockmount school created in a workshop that was led by artist Sarah Reddyhoff.
