Punks, Princes and Protests: The Chronicles of Feliks Topolski RA

The exhibition will explore the artist’s heritage, connections to the British Royal Family, and his commitment to the art of eyewitness impartial reportage showing how Topolski’s identity and art seamlessly oscillated between the Establishment and Counter-Culture.

Thursday-Sunday – 12:00-18:00 @ the Topolski Studio until July 15, before transferring to POSK Gallery, Hammersmith from July 20 to September 1.

The exhibition showcases Feliks Topolski’s lifelong commitment to reportage, using the occasion of Charles III’s coronation to highlight how the artist oscillated between the Establishment and Counter-Culture. Topolski’s artistic and social core was his Studio on the South Bank, occupied since 1951 and host to open Fridays from the early 1970s. The archive now reopens, for the first time, for a temporary exhibition of his work.

The exhibition has been organised by the Topolski Memoir charity and the Granville-Skarbek Anglo-Polish Cultural Exchange, originated by POSK (the Polish Social and Cultural Association). The Exchange celebrates the creative contribution to British life by the Polish diaspora. The exhibition will be at the Topolski Studio in the Hungerford Arches next to the Royal Festival Hall until early July and will transfer to the POSK) Gallery at 238-246 King Street in Hammersmith from July 20 to September 1.
