Acclaimed conductor Marta Gardolińska will play works by three famous Polish composers, Grażyna Bacewicz, Karol Szymanowski and Witold Lutosławski for a special afternoon performance celebrating Polish music at Glasgow’s City Halls, the city’s oldest purpose built performance space.

About Marta Gardolińska

In 2021, Marta Gardolińska made history after becoming the first female and first Pole to be chosen as the new musical director of the Opéra national de Lorraine in Nancy, one of the five national operas outside of Paris.

She is also the Principal Guest Conductor of Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona.

Marta came to international attention in 2018 as Young Conductor in Association at the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and made her North American debut the following season as a Dudamel Fellow in Los Angeles. She was invited to make her Hollywood Bowl debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in summer 2021 and returned in August 2022.
