Tomasz Bura Group feat. Rouhangeze is a band that blends various musical styles including jazz, classical, cinematic, and electronic music. The group, led by pianist Tomasz Bura, will be performing selections from their latest EP Astera along with new compositions.

Joining Bura on stage will be vocalist Rouhangeze, whose unique voice adds ethereal textures. Providing the rhythm section are bassist Max Luthert and drummer Zoe Pascal. This combo allows the Tomasz Bura Group to fuse diverse styles ranging from improvisational to ambient soundscapes.

Tomasz Bura, pianist, and composer, carving his path in the world of music. With a growing presence on the European jazz scene, Tomasz has delighted audiences in esteemed venues like London’s Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and has been featured in notable jazz festivals, including Jazz à Vienne in France.

His captivating performances have also caught the attention of television and radio audiences, with appearances on popular platforms such as MTV Brand New, BBC, Channel 1, BBC Radio 1, BBC London Radio, JazzFM and TSF Jazz in Paris.

Since making his move from Poland to London in 2011, Tomasz has been on a musical journey, touring across Europe and Africa, gracing the stages of renowned music festivals both as a featured musician and bandleader. In 2015, Tomasz introduced his first solo piano album, “Ritual,” a testament to his unique style and artistic expression.

Driven by his passion for innovation, Tomasz embarked on a new creative endeavor in 2015, composing fresh music for a quartet. This project aimed to blend his diverse musical influences, drawing from jazz, rock, global, and classical genres, which he diligently studied for 14 years in Poland.

In 2017, Tomasz joined forces with award-winning singer Rouhangeze to form a dynamic band. Their performances at esteemed venues like Jazz Refreshed sessions, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, and various jazz festivals in the UK, Mauritius, and Poland have garnered high praise. Chris Philips, former head of music at JazzFM, lauded their music as inspiring and brilliantly composed, showcasing evident synergy and joy.

Building upon his artistic journey, Tomasz released his second solo piano album, “The Room Upstairs,” in 2018. This mesmerizing collection of primarily improvised pieces was recorded at the prestigious Steinway Recording Studio in the UK and later made available on digital platforms through the esteemed UK-based label, Ubuntu Music.

In 2021, Tomasz’s versatility as a composer shone through as he signed a significant production music deal with “Position Music,” a prominent Los Angeles-based label specializing in film music. This opportunity allowed him to showcase his range and creativity. That same year, he collaborated with renowned musicians such as master guitarist Guthrie Govan, Rouhangeze, drummer Mark Mondesir, and bass player Laurence Cottle, further expanding his artistic repertoire. Tomasz has also had the honor of performing, recording, and composing alongside esteemed artists worldwide, including Harvey Mason, Etienne Mbappe, Carl Orr, Evgeny Pobozhiy, Federico Malaman, Gergo Borlai, Mark Mondesir, members of Jamiroquai, Level 42, Incognito, Alex Hutchings, and Wretch 32, to name just a few.

Despite his achievements, Tomasz remains dedicated to sharing his musical knowledge and has conducted over 200 workshops in the UK, France, Germany, and Poland. His commitment to teaching reflects his genuine passion for nurturing the next generation of musicians. Tomasz Bura is a rising talent on the European classical and jazz scene, leaving an indelible mark with his unique artistry and boundless potential.

Rouhangeze is a contemporary multi genre singer-songwriter, composer born and bred on the beautiful, all intoxicating island of Mauritius; her velvet vocal tones echo the emotion and beauty of her homeland. Her voice is compelling with an ease, soul, and versatility.

A smooth ascension of melody, technicality, and heart…Her timing in delivery of phrases brings about such a resolute feeling of joy to the listener. Charged with a passionate heart, every nuance articulates a dynamic story, grabbing your attention in wanting to hear where she takes you next. This is a singer of depth encased with a velvet tone, sensuality and by far, uniquely different from the flock. She is a multi-faceted artist, painter, and holistic vocal therapist.

Since she has moved to London in 2009, she has collaborated and developed her compositions with some of the world’s best namely Tabla master Aref Durvesh (Susheela Rahman, Sting, Nitin Sawnhey), multi award winning guitarist Antonio Forcione (Charlie Haden, Trilok Gurtu), Bass virtuoso Linley Marthe (The Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Omar Hakim, Nguyen Le…), drummer Mark Mondesir (John McLaughlin, Deep Purple…), Percussionist songwriter Menwar and Kersley Sham, Pianist Composer Tomasz Bura (The Scientists), multi award winning producer, guitarist Eric Appapoulay (Plan B, Cat Stevens, Neneh Cherry…); songwriting, exploring the traditional rhythms of the Sega that she sings in her mother tongue, Mauritian Creole. 

Her compositions are basked in the colours of Africa and India influenced by her love of Jazz and the marriage between electronic and organic sounds.
