One of Poland’s most consistently thrilling musicians, Wacław Zimpel has released incredible albums with James Holden and Shackleton, and collaborated with Joe McPhee, Forest Swords and Rabih Beaini. With thanks due to the Polish Institute, he will be bringing his recent Train Spotter project to The Barge Inn. He spent months recording the sounds of the tram and rail networks of Warsaw and combined this with clarinet, synths and drum machines to create a new, emotionally resonant form of musique concrète.
