The Border
The Border was created in tribute to non-binary Ukrainian performer, Antonina Romanova, who was kept on the front line by the war. That doesn’t mean she couldn’t still be with us in another guise. Creation of a new, intimate language of the [non-]present, who devoted their life to defending their own dignity. It oscillates between performance and ritual, becoming a ‘rite of passage’, a moment of ‘receiving and giving’. It creates a new field where time is only a moving image of eternity. The End of the Times?
A phantasmagorical imagining of our possible future, confronting the big problems facing the world in which we live: war, hunger, artificial intelligence. With a collection of technical effects, a solo live musician creates his own original wall of sound. Drawing inspiration from artists like Orbital and the Chemical Brothers, this uplifting experience has a serious message. A tribute to the poorest on the planet, to the children who suffer in conflict and to the flora and fauna of our ecosystem. In aid of the International Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders. Free DVD.
Furiozo: Man Looking for Trouble
A sell-out season at 2023 Edinburgh Fringe, shortlisted for Best Show in Comedians’ Choice Awards 2023. A disturbing yet absurdly funny portrait of toxic masculinity. This solo punk-rock comedy show stars one man – Furiozo: an aggressive hooligan with a giant heart. Police chases, petty theft, drugs, and longing for the greatest thrill of all: true love. You will love him. You will hate him. You will experience the presence of the beast. As Furiozo would say: Live fast; Die. ‘Terrifying then lovely’ (Guardian). ‘Adorably scary’ (AllThatDazzles.co.uk).
Nobody Meets Nobody
Physical theatre of emotions. A man decides to leave his partner, but after a sudden accident, he never leaves their shared space. This tense situation results in an extraordinary shift in bodily impulses and their human relationship. We exist in the existence of Others. By assuming that you exist, we gain certainty about the existence of “I”. Even when you transform into He/She. Even when we do not notice it. We are parts of our own stories created for each other. Grotowski Institute Residence at Fringe supported by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
Sheol
Sheol is a theatrical séance and a contemporary lamentation for the dead and the undead, the born and the unborn, inspired by Górecki’s Symphony No.3 and Chagall paintings. Performance with live music and extraordinary density, as if performers bodies were at once both a sound and an instrument. Sheol is a story about the desire and will to live a life that is full and vibrant. Created by Total Theatre Award and Herald Angel winner, director Jaroslaw Fret. Grotowski Institute residence at Fringe supported by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
