INTRUDER | INTRUZ is a bilingual (English-Polish) autobiographical monologue telling the story of a Polish man who moves to Scotland from Poland to become an actor. Soon after he is a victim of an ugly and vicious attack that almost ruins his life.
The play, based on an account of an incident in Edinburgh in 2009, revolves around the themes of mental health, anxiety, forgiveness, restorative justice system, what it’s like to be an immigrant, what it’s like to be a victim of violence, but most importantly about making your dreams come true. Remi has been working on the play since 2009.The piece has two language versions, English (the original version) and Polish.
The piece was shortlisted for Adrian Pagan Playwriting Award at the King’s Head Theatre & was in the final shortlist of BBC Writersroom Drama in 2017. The Polish Embassy in London selected the piece for its Online Polish Heritage Days in May 2020. Premiered at Summerhall, Fringe 22 received an extension. The play is the recipient of the 2023 VAULT Festival Pick of Summerhall Award. Both versions of the play, English and Polish, were presented in Edinburgh.
