Raw Earth, Rare Earth – Alicja Biała at BB Gallery

A Solo Exhibition of New Works by multidisciplinary and multimedia artist Alicja Biała between the 18 September - 25 October 2025 at London's Berntson Bhattacharjee Gallery. Recommended by the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

18 Sept – 25 Oct 2025, Berntson Bhattacharjee Gallery, 45 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NE

Berntson Bhattacharjee is excited to announce the upcoming solo exhibition of Alicja Biała (b. 1993, Poznań). Biała is a multidisciplinary and multimedia artist based between Poland, the Netherlands, and the UK. She received her BA at the Royal Drawing School, London (2022) and MA at the Royal College of Art, London (2023). In her practice, she experiments with scale and materials, with works ranging from large-scale murals and sculptures to architectural and lighting installations, and from drawing to etchings. Her work, both speculative and interrogative, references pagan motifs and interweaves tradition with the political and personal tensions of everyday life, while examining Slavic histories, migration, politics, the formation of cultural identity and environmental degradation, ultimately aiming to cut into our shared cultural past.

Opening preview 18 September

This project is in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.

Recommended by the Polish Cultural Institute in London

The installation will provide a unique insight to Biała’s practice, and is a continuation of the body of work currently on show in her solo exhibition Raw Earth, Rare Earth at the gallery.

Echo Soho champions female-led galleries, amplifying their influence in contemporary art in the heart of London’s Soho. The fair happily coincides with Frieze London.
