Experience a unique musical journey with Włodek Pawlik, the only Polish jazz musician to win a Grammy Award for his album Night in Calisia (Best Large Jazz Ensemble, 2014). With a career spanning over four decades, Pawlik has released 45 records, composed film soundtracks, orchestral works, a ballet (Flow), the opera Via Sancta, and music for the acclaimed musical Irena (2022).

About Włodek Pawlik

• Graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg.
• Full professor at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, teaching improvisation.
• Collaborated with jazz legends such as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Arturo Sandoval, Billy Hart, Tom Kennedy, Richie Cole, and Paul Wertico.
• Known for blending jazz, classical, world music, and highland folklore into a distinctive, improvisational style.

About Łukasz Pawlik

• Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger; winner of the Berlin Jazz & Blues Award (2006).
• Classically trained cellist who also performs on piano, keyboards, drums, and electric bass.
• Released two original albums (Lonely Journey and Long-Distance Connections) featuring collaborations with Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, and Dave Weckl.

Pawlik & Pawlik Duo

This project unites father and son, Włodek and Łukasz Pawlik, two generations of a musical family. The duo’s repertoire features compositions from Włodek’s Grammy-winning album alongside original works by Łukasz. Their music defies categorization, blending jazz, classical training, world music, and improvisation to create a one-of-a-kind live experience.
