New book notice: ‘Songs at Half Past Three and Other Poems’ by Wojciech Bonowicz, translated by Elżbieta Wójcik-Leese

'Bonowicz has a knack for pointing out the beauty of the world, for slowing down and suddenly spotting a glimpse of something bigger, brighter against a rougher, more textured backdrop.' - Anna Błasiak

Wojciech Bonowicz is the author of eight poetry collections and numerous books of criticism. His texts and poems appeared in English translation in variety of magazines, including  Asymptote and Modern Poetry in Translation. Songs at Half Past Three and Other Poems is his first book in English, a compilation of original, thought-provoking poems touching on important questions of human existence.

‘If initially Bonowicz’s poems seem surreal or playful, they quickly reveal themselves to be sharp splinters of philosophy, as discomfiting as they are absorbing.’

– Sasha Dugdale
