Simona Kossak Film Screening + Talk (In English)

A special screening of Simona Kossak, the critically acclaimed biopic about Poland's pioneering ecologist at ActOne Cinema Acton. Organised by Talking & Exploring as part of Polish Heritage Days and supported by the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

Sunday 29th June, 2:30pm, ActOne Cinema, 119 – 121 Acton High Street, London, W3 6NA

Together with Talking & Exploring, we are celebrating Polish Heritage Days with a special screening of SIMONA KOSSAK, followed by talks and discussions at the lounge. More information about the talk to be confirmed soon. Please note there will be no ads and trailers before the film.

Simona Kossak – daughter of the painter Jerzy Kossak and granddaughter of Wojciech – deprived of the talent that has defined her family for generations, grows up without knowing the warmth of her despotic mother. When, after graduation, she leaves everything – home, tradition, social conventions – and takes up a job as a scientist in Białowieża, she starts life on her own terms.

SIMONA KOSSAK is a smartly sharp biopic of the pioneering Polish ecologist, with a charismatic performance from Sandra Drzymalska and pacy direction from Adrian Panek that makes for an unexpectedly appealing portrait of an unlikely hero.

The film will be screened with English subtitles and is suitable for English speakers with no knowledge of Polish.
