Exhibition: Planetary Consciousness. Ecosystems of Care, Manchester

An exhibition which invites reflection on our relationship with the planet in an age of rapid ecological and technological change. Part of the UK/Poland Season 2025.

4th November – 2nd December, Modal Gallery, School of Digital Arts (SODA), Manchester Metropolitan University

The project is dedicated to contemporary digital art, prepared by Galeria Arsenał in Białystok and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute Instytut Adama Mickiewicza as part of the UK/Poland Season 2025.

It presents Earth as a living organism — exploited, yet increasingly viewed with empathy and care. Artists from Central and Eastern Europe share their visions of a world where technology becomes both a tool of exploration and a means of cultivating new sensitivity toward the environment.

The works on display combine experimental digital techniques with questions about the planet’s future, human responsibility, and the coexistence of different forms of life. “Planetary Awareness. Ecosystems of Care” is an invitation to reflect on how art can help us understand the transformations shaping our world — and how it can foster a new language of care for the planet we all share.
