Winter Light featuring Wojciech Kołacz (Otecki) from 19 November 2025 – 18 January 2026 at the Southbank Centre in London
Over the dark winter nights, the Southbank Centre is transformed by outdoor artworks that play with light and colour. This year’s programme features works by Otecki, Samia Halaby, David Batchelor, Rafaël Rozendaal, France Lise McGurn, Jakob Kvist, Nathaniel Rackowe, Squire & Partners, Liz West and Tavares Strachan.
Otecki’s glowing abstract images – drawing on folklore, mystical landscapes and bold ethereal colour – fill the Royal Festival Hall windows. Titles such as Harmonia mundi evoke a sense of cosmic balance, while vibrant hues and dreamlike compositions immerse visitors in shifting fields of light.
The exhibition explores themes including identity, the environment and technology. It is best experienced after dark, although all artworks remain visible throughout opening hours.
