Ursula Phillips receives Found in Translation Award in London

This year's Found in Translation Award was given to Ursula Phillips with an awards ceremony taking place at the Polish Embassy in London.

On May 19th, this year’s Found in Translation Literary Award was presented at the Polish Embassy in London.

The award has been presented since 2008 by the Polish Book Institute in cooperation with the Polish Cultural Institute in London and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York for the best translation of Polish literature into English.

This year’s winner was Ursula Phillips, who received the award for the second time, this time for her translation of Jacek Dukaj’s “Ice.”

She had previously been honored for her translation of Zofia Nałkowska’s “Choucas.”

The award was presented by Jerzy Boczkowski, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in London, Anna Godlewska, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and Promotion of Poland at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Anna Tryc-Bromley, Director of the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

Head of Zeus Publishing, which published the book, was represented by Nicolas Cheetham, Managing Director.
