MARTA MATHEA RADWAN SINGS JAKUBCZAK & WARSKA @ Jazz Cafe POSK

In this concert of rarely performed songs, singer Marta Mathea Radwan, joined by her star band, pays tribute to two trailblazers of Polish vocal jazz, Ludmiła Jakubczak & Wanda Warska.

These iconic artists shaped the sound of a generation, leaving behind a rich legacy of timeless music and unmistakable style.

Vocalist Marta Mathea Radwan, joined by her exceptional band, reimagines their repertoire with fresh arrangements and a personal touch.

From beloved classics like “Szeptem” and “Gdy Mi Ciebie Zabraknie” to hidden gems spanning blues, swing, soulful ballads, and expressive vocalises—this concert offers a vibrant journey through the golden era of Polish jazz.

Dr Marta Mathea Radwan is an award-winning conductor, vocalist, and workshop leader with an international career spanning over three decades. She holds a Doctor of Music degree from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, specialising in jazz conducting. With over
30 years of experience in studio recording and live performance, Marta’s career began with her first recorded radio performance in 1986. Since then, she has been a constant presence in both live and recorded television and radio, working as a singer, conductor, and music director.In
the United Kingdom, she is best known for leading several music projects including Alle Choir London, Offbeat Choirs, Scandinavian Singing Club, and others. Her latest ensemble, the Marta Mathea Radwan Quartet, features top-tier musicians performing themed programs such as “Polish Jazz Goes to the Cinema” and “Tribute to Kalina Jędrusik.” Marta is the co-founder of the Association of Polish Jazz Musicians in London, and she currently teaches at Brunel University London, while continuing to perform actively as a jazz vocalist.


Anita Łazińska – pianist, vocalist and composer, graduate of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Anita is an active musician and has participated in many projects such as: the All Souls’ Day Jazz Festival in London, Voicingers on Tour or the WąbJazzno Festival.
Currently a member of groups: Anita Lazinska Quartet, Muze Voices. She has had the pleasure of collaborating with many talented musicians and bands such as the Leszek Kułakowski Trio, Igor Zakus and Usein Bekirov, Maciej Sikała, Eric Ford, Rob Statham.

Jakub Cywiński – Born in Poland, based in London, Jakub Cywiński is a double bass player and composer who currently explores his interest in collaborating with various contemporary composers and jazz musicians such as Ola Onabule, Marco Marconi, Partikel, Power of the Horns and Nicolas Meyer among others. He studied double bass as a postgraduate
at the Royal College of Music. His varied freelance career has taken him to India, Russia, Lebanon, and other places around the world

Eric Ford – is one of the leading British drummers. He has been based in London since 2006, following four years in Paris. Eric enjoys working across musical genres and has performed around the world on more than 60 albums. His credits include appearances at Ronnie
Scott’s, the Royal Albert Hall, and collaborations with Ronnie Laws, Marc Almond, Clare Teal, the London Jazz Orchestra, and Jason Rebello. He’s also presented drum clinics in London and Beijing, and has been a member of the acclaimed Partikel trio since 2009.


Adam Palczewski – Adam graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied classical trumpet, as well as from the legendary Jazz Department at Bednarska. He later continued his studies at the Paris Conservatoire in the masterclass of Guy Touvron, and honed his skills through workshops with outstanding American jazz and orchestral trumpeters, including Terence Blanchard, Christopher Martin (New York
Philharmonic), and Mark Ridenour (Chicago Symphony Orchestra). For the past 20 years, Adam has lived in London, where he is active as a session musician in the local jazz and entertainment scene. He has worked with ensembles including Hackney Colliery Brass Band, Mojo
Big Band, Kix Big Band, John Ongom Big Band, Regent Brass, and London
Metropolitan Brass. Recently, he recorded an EP with Mojo Big Band at the legendary Abbey
Road Studios.
