“Love can seem like an attempt to give to somebody what we don’t quite have (to make them happy) and ending up giving them something they don’t quite want.”

Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska is a multi award-winning filmmaker, psychologist, and writer whose work explores desire, intimacy and the stories we tell about our relationships with others, ourselves and, increasingly, intelligent machines. Her films and research have taken her across Europe, Africa and North America. In Zimbabwe, she explored desire and relationships across ethnic divisions and social prohibitions, while her documentary Married to the Eiffel Tower examined objectum sexuality and the nature of human attachment long before questions of AI intimacy entered public debate.

Agnieszka is the author of AI Intimacy and Psychoanalysis (Routledge, 2026), one of the first books to examine the psychological and emotional dimensions of relationships with artificial intelligence. Her work brings together psychoanalysis, philosophy, cinema and emerging technology to ask what AI reveals about our deepest desires for recognition, connection and understanding.

Wznowienie (“The Revival”) by Maciej Wojtyszko @The

Two actresses. One dead director. A puppet show that means far more than it should. Wznowienie (“The Revival”), a darkly funny and quietly devastating play by acclaimed Polish playwright Maciej Wojtyszko, comes to London for just five performances. Performed in Polish with English surtitles, this rare production explores artistic genius, obsession, grief and the complicated relationships we form with those we admire most.
